Should I leave them on the lawn (it doesn't look ugly - it looks natural) or should I rake them up? If I rake them what can I do with them beyond burning them or sending them in one of those yard waste bags with the trash?

There are some leave that you absolutely NEED to rake and remove (walnut) as they ruin the grass. I leave the other leaves where they fall.

I shred some and use them as mulch to protect tree roots and act as a home to creepy crawlies.

I also put some in my compost bin. If they are dry mix with some lawn trimmings or water lightly to help them start decomposing.
